Born in the UK to a family of musicians, Natasha Kraemer grew up listening to her parents performing in orchestras that played on instruments from the time the music was composed. She was so drawn in to this sound world, that she decided to pursue her own path within it. As a pupil of Jenny Ward Clarke, Natasha graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, London, where she specialised in historical performance on Baroque and Classical cello.

Natasha has performed and recorded across the UK, Europe and Australia. Highlights include BBC Proms with the Monteverdi Orchestra (Sir John Eliot Gardiner), and The English Concert (Harry Bicket); Handel’s Messiah with The Sixteen (Harry Christophers); and a Deutsche Grammophon recording of Haydn’s The Seasons with The Gabrieli Consort & Players (Paul McCreesh).

Natasha is delighted to be a part of the Australian HIP movement, touring extensively across the country with groups such as Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra, Australian Haydn Ensemble, Van Diemen’s Band and Pinchgut Opera.

Standout performances include shows at Tasmania’s Dark MOFO with Van Diemen’s Band; the complete Beethoven Symphonies at the Sydney International Festival with Anima Eterna Brugge (Jos van Immerseel); and the various chamber music tours with ARCO, that have taken the group to the Blue Mountains, UKARIA Cultural Centre and regional NSW and QLD.

Natasha was invited as guest principal cellist with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, for their performances of Bach’s St John Passion with Stephen Layton, and a Baroque program with Avi Avital and Erin Helyard.

Currently based in the the beautiful Northern Rivers of NSW, Natasha can also be found singing and playing in folk band Bella Frankie, recording film soundtracks and performing in festivals.
